A prosecutor in New Jersey has filed charges against an Ocean County middle school teacher who allegedly had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student.

Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford filed criminal sexual contact charges Tuesday against Erin T. Haskell, 31, who lives in Barnegat Township and is a teacher at Intermediate South in Beachwood.

Haskell is charged with first- and second-degree aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and exhibiting obscene material to a minor.

Bail was set at $300,000, and the suspect's lawyer has requested she surrender to authorities, according to prosecutors.

The name of the lawyer was not immediately available.
