1 Dead, 2 Critically Injured in Bronx Fire

The fire started just after 6 a.m. at 2247 Webster Ave. in Tremont

One man is dead, and two others were injured critically, after an early-morning apartment fire in the Bronx Saturday. The man was found with stab wounds.

The fire started just after 6 a.m. at 2247 Webster Ave. in Tremont. 
 
The 56-year-old man, who has not been identified, was discovered by firefighters with stab wounds in his neck and burns on his body. He was pronounced dead at St. Barnabus Hospital.
 
Two other people were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities say one of the victims went into cardiac arrest.
 
Police say they took a 48-year-old man into custody at the scene, but no arrests have been made.
