Times Square Pickpocket Racks Up Thousands of Dollars in Purchases: NYPD

Police are looking for a woman who's allegedly been pickpocketing other women on the streets of Times Square and using the stolen credit cards to rack up thousands of dollars of fraudulent purchases since last fall.

The woman pictured in the surveillance video image released by police Thursday is accused of stealing wallets from the purses and backpacks of women on blocks near West 44th Street and 7th Avenue, 50th Street and 5th Avenue, and in one case, inside an Express clothing store at 46th Street and 7th Avenue.

At least one theft a month has been connected to the suspect from last September through December, police said. The cards stolen in November and December were used to make purchases totaling $1,300 and $2,500, respectively. There were also unauthorized purchases on the cards stolen in September and October.

Anyone with information on the suspect pictured is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
