Police have charged a 20-year-old woman with statutory rape and child endangerment after she allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old boy at his Staten Island home and then exchanged text messages with him about it afterward.
Prosecutors said Megan Donovan, a former daycare worker, was arraigned Thursday after the encounter earlier in the week.
She met the boy through his sister, who is a friend of hers, authorities said.
The two had struck up a relationship and had sex at his home on Tuesday, according to prosecutors.
They also exchanged text messages about it, with Donovan saying at one point that the pair should use a condom the next time.
He told his friends about the encounter, and then his mother found out and notified police, prosecutors said.
Donovan was released on $1,000 bail. Her attorney Mark Geisser said "I fully anticipate Miss Donovan's vindication from these false allegations."
