10-Foot Snake Found in Washington Square Park

Police said they cleared a 10-foot-long snake out of a park in Manhattan Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to Washington Square Park at about 2 p.m. and found the snake near bushes.

The snake had green and black speckles, police say, but its breed wasn't clear.

The reptile was taken to a shelter in the Greenwich Village. It's not known how the animal ended up in the park.
