The suspect fired toward two members of the NYPD in Elmhurst, officials say

Authorities are seeking a suspect who allegedly shot at uniformed police officers in Queens early Saturday.

The suspect, shown above in an image taken from a surveillance camera, was chasing another man and firing a gun at him on Lamont Avenue in Elmhurst at around 2 a.m., according to officials.

An NYPD sergeant and police officer on patrol ordered the suspect to drop his gun, police said, and the suspect turned and fired toward them before fleeing.

A $12,000 reward has been offered for information that could help lead to the suspect's arrest and conviction, police say.
