Suspect Sought in Stuyvesant Town Gropings

Police are looking for a man who allegedly groped two women in their apartment buildings near the East Village. 

The first reported groping was around 3 a.m. Sunday, May 18, when the suspect groped a 24-year-old woman while she was inside the hallway of her apartment building in the area of East 14th Street. 

On Sunday, June 15, at about 2 a.m., the same suspect allegedly forcibly touched a 22-year-old woman inside the hallway of her building in Stuyvesant Town, police said. 

The suspect ran away in both cases. 

Many Stuyvesant Town residents NBC 4 New York spoke to Friday night hadn't heard about the attacks.

"I'm shocked," said Fernanda Musa. "I've lived here for three years and I've always felt very safe here."
