Thieves shot the owner of a jewelry store in Riverdale during a robbery on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The 57-year-old owner, whose name wasn't released, was shot in the hand and the stomach, officials said. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition but was expected to survive.
"He's a wonderful man, a working man," witness Louis Guarascio said of the owner.
The two suspects fled in a Ford, the NYPD said. It's not clear what they stole from Marilyn's Diamond Collection on Johnson Avenue in the Bronx.
