Man Arrested After Gas Station Employee Reports Abduction: Police

Authorities say they've arrested a man after investigating a report of an abduction at an upstate gas station.

An employee at a Mobil station on Bloomingburg Road in Wallkill called police after a woman approached him Monday and asked him to notify officials, saying she was being held against her will.

A man then forced the woman into a tan or gold pickup truck that fled east on Route 17M, police said.

A state trooper pulled over the vehicle about 10 miles from the gas station, and the man was arrested for violating an order of protection, along with another outstanding warrant.

The woman is home and safe, police said.

The man and the woman knew each other and had lived together in the past, according to police.
