Brooklyn Boy, 14, Shot in Head

Police are searching for a gunman they say shot a 14-year-old Brooklyn boy in the head.

The teenager is clinging to life at Brookdale Hospital. Police say the brain trauma is so severe that family members were rushed to his side.

Police say two groups of teens got into a verbal dispute on the corner of Cornelia Street and Evergreen Avenue in Bushwick late Wednesday.

One of them pulled out a gun and shot the victim, authorities said.

Neighbors described what they said sounded like fireworks. An EMT who lives next door to the scene tried to help the victim as police arrived on scene.

Both groups took off after the shooting. It was not known how many shots were fired.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-tips.
