Police Investigate Car Window-Smashing Spree in Massapequa, Massapequa Park

Police are investigating a series of weekend car vandalisms in Massapequa and Massapequa Park.

More than 20 cars had windows or mirrors smashed and broken in a vandalism spree in Massapequa and Massapequa Park over the weekend, police said.

The incidents happened between 6 p.m. Saturday and 12:20 p.m. Sunday, according to Nassau County police. The vehicles had rear windows, front windshields or sideview mirrors either smashed or broken.

The vandalism was reported for vehicles located on Locust Street, Riverside Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, Prospect Place, Ocean Avenue, Hawthorne Street, Bannon Place, Abbey Street, Brendan Avenue, Linden Street, New York Avenue, Fitzmaurice Street, Tyrconnell Avenue, Cherry Street, Lakeshore Drive, Sycamore Street, Seaford Avenue and Lakeshore Boulevard.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 800-244-TIPS.
