Detectives are scouring a Long Island neighborhood for evidence in an ongoing homicide investigation.
An unidentified man believed to be between 40 and 50 years old was found shot and killed outside his home late Sunday night.
Nassau County homicide detectives did not immediately release the name of the man. His bloodied shoes were still near the shooting scene in North Bellmore on Monday afternoon.
Police believe the man was shot multiple times at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. He lived in a ground floor apartment in a private residence.
There was no known motive for the shooting and no suspects were in custody.
