A 22-year-old man was shot dead at a funeral in Newark, N.J., midday Wednesday in a killing authorities said appeared to be targeted.

Jahid Devlin was gunned down as the casket was being loaded into the hearse outside the Churchman Funeral Home near South 7th Street and 13th Avenue. Authorities say he was shot multiple times.

"They were coming out of the funeral service on the way to the cemetery and gunshots erupted," said Donna Jackson, a community activist. 

No arrests have been made.
