NYPD Rescues Man From Cargo Vessel Miles Offshore

Officials with the NYPD Aviation and Emergency Services rescued a man off a ship at sea on Sunday.

The 22-year-old man was suffering from chest pains and was feeling ill onboard a Chinese cargo vessel about 20 miles offshore in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD.

A police chopper flew in and lowered an NYPD medic to the deck to reach the victim. The medic hoisted the man from the boat and onto the helicopter.

The man was taken to an area hospital from for an evaluation for chest and abdominal pains and a severe headache.
