Man Tries to Buy Armani Jacket, Gets Dragged to Death by Seller's Car: NYPD

Police are looking for the driver they said fatally dragged a man trying to buy an Armani jacket from him on a West Bronx street Tuesday.

The victim, 49-year-old Dennis Gandarilla, met up with the driver between East 156th and Kelly streets about noon to buy the jacket, according to police.

The driver, who was inside a red or maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee, sped off at some point during the planned exchange with Gandarilla hanging out of the passenger's side. Police said the man dragged him for about four blocks before he was thrown to the ground. The suspect then drove away on Prospect Avenue.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver is thought to be around 40 years old.

Anyone with information about the driver should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
