Police identified a suspect after a homeless man was stabbed to death following an argument at an New York City shelter Wednesday night, police said.
Anthony White, 21, is considered a person of interest by the NYPD in the stabbing death of a 62-year-old man.
A fight between the 62-year-old victim, identified as Devon Black, and the other man broke out just before midnight at the Boulevard Homeless Shelter on Lexington Avenue and 124th Street in East Harlem.
When officers arrived at the shelter, Black was unconscious and had a stab wound to his neck, police said.
Emergency responders declared Black dead at the scene. His body was taken to a medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
Detectives were at the 100-person homeless shelter Thursday morning investigating. Police were also searching for a suspect in the stabbing.
No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Violence incidents against shelter staff and residents have also increased 55 percent, from 504 in 2012 to 783 in 2015.
