Two men were arrested by police Saturday after they allegedly broke into a Long Island Tiffany & Co. store and grabbed jewelry and watches worth over $1 million.

Police responded to an alarm at the Tiffany & Co. at 1980 Northern Blvd. in Manhasset around 4:45 a.m. When officers arrived at the jewelry store they say they saw Vitalii Trufanov, 40, on the roof. After his arrest, police say they found jewelry and watches on him worth over $1 million.

Noticing that Trufanov had entered the store through its roof, police searched inside the building and found Evgenii Zakhapov, 35. He was also arrested.

No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Trufanov and Zakhapov were charged with grand larceny, burglary and criminal mischief. They were arraigned Sunday in Hempstead.
