Man Charged in Cocaine Trafficking Conspiracy: Prosecutor

Federal prosecutors say a California man stands accused of conspiring to transport 12 kilograms of cocaine from California to New Jersey and other destinations on the East coast.

Jesus Raul Iribe, of Riverside, is due to make his initial court appearance Wednesday in New Jersey. He could face a life sentence if convicted.

The 37-year-old Iribe was arrested at his home on March 10. Federal agents say they found $460,000 in cash hidden there, as well as three guns, including an AR-15 assault rifle.

Prosecutors say that in February 2013, law enforcement authorities recorded and observed meetings between Iribe and other conspirators. Eventually, they followed a tractor trailer to New York City, where they allegedly recovered a produce box containing 12 kilograms of cocaine.
