Police are investigating what happened in the moments before a man was shot and killed by his firearm at a New Jersey gun range Saturday evening.
It is not clear whether the man intentionally or accidentally shot himself around 7:30 p.m., police said. He was at RTSP Shooting Range in Randolph, New Jersey, when the shooting occurred. Although he was rushed to a hospital, heuccumbed to his injuries.
Police said they're continuing to investigate the shooting, but that no criminal charges are expected in the case and that there is no danger to the community.
The man's name has not been released given the nature of the incident, police said.
