Motorcyclist Killed in Staten Island Crash: NYPD

One man on a motorcycle is dead after a collision with a pickup truck Saturday at Staten Island, authorities said.

At midnight, police found a 53-year-old motorcyclist with severe body trauma lying at the intersection of Fingerboard Road and Bay Street, police said.

Michael Hines, of Staten Island, was unconscious and taken to Staten Island University North Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation determined that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Bay Street when he was struck by a red pickup truck, which was trying to make a left turn from Bay Street.

The 65-year-old truck driver remained at the scene and was arrested, police said.

Jesus Santiago, of Brooklyn, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
