Motorcyclist Dead, Wife Hurt in Long Island Crash

Both husband and wife were wearing helmets

    Two firefighters have been injured when two San Antonio fire trucks collided while responding to an emergency call.

    Police on Long Island say a motorcyclist was killed and his wife was seriously injured when his speeding motorcycle hit a guardrail.
     
    The accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday in Holbrook.

      Suffolk County police say 36-year-old James Burvenich was driving a 2004 Honda motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a curve and hit a guardrail.
     
    Burvenich was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital. 
     
    His 33-year-old wife, LeeAnn, who was a passenger, is in serious condition at the hospital.
     
    Both husband and wife were wearing helmets.
