Manhattanville College Student Slain in Faculty Housing

    A police official says the killing of a student at a suburban New York college was an "isolated incident" linked to "family matters."

    Harrison Police Capt. Anthony Marraccini says the Manhattanville College campus in Westchester County is safe.

    Marraccini said officers found the female student's body at faculty housing on Monday after getting a 911 call from school security.

    There was no immediate arrest. The victim's name has not been made public.

    Manhattanville College is located in Purchase, about 27 miles northeast of Manhattan. The liberal arts school has about 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
