Long Island Man Left Dog in Hot Car At Rock Concert: Police

State police say a 52-year-old Long Island man left his dog in a vehicle with the windows rolled up while he attended a rock concert at an upstate New York music venue.

Police say several people attending Tuesday night's Journey and Steve Miller Band concert at Bethel Woods in Sullivan County told troopers that a dog was locked in a vehicle in the parking lot on a day when temperatures hit the mid-80s.

Troopers gained access to the vehicle and removed a poodle named Milo. Police say the dog appeared to be in good health.

The dog's owner later showed up at the state police command center. He was ticketed for failing to provide food and water to a confined animal and locking a companion animal in a vehicle during extreme temperatures.
