Man Struck, Killed by NYPD Van

A pedestrian was struck and killed as an NYPD van backed out of a parking space in Chinatown Friday morning, according to police.
The marked auxiliary NYPD van was in a parking spot on Elizabeth Street just outside the 5th Precinct when the driver accidentally jumped the curb, striking and killing the 55-year-old victim.
The victim has not yet been identified.
No charges will be filed against the driver of the van, who is a police officer, officials said.
