Police are looking for a man who held the door open for a woman using a walker in Manhattan, then slammed it shut, put her in a chokehold, threw her down and ripped off her necklaces.

Police are looking for a man who held the door open for a woman using a walker in Manhattan, then let it close, put her in a chokehold, threw her down and ripped off her necklaces.

Police say the 48-year-old woman was walking into her lobby on Hamilton Place in Hamilton Heights at about 2:30 a.m. on July 15 when he appeared to try to help her.

Then he turned on her and attacked. He took two gold necklaces before fleeing.

Police ask anyone with information about the assault to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
