Police have arrested a man they say robbed and shot a 25-year-old man on Long Island.
Bennie Kinard, 23, allegedly approached the victim on Henry Street on Jan. 3 and demanded money, according to Nassau County Police.
The victim handed over his cash and a cell phone and Kinard shot him once in the chest before fleeing, police say.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is now recovering.
Police located Kinard Thursday and charged him with second-degree murder, two counts of robbery, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.
It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
