Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno Will Not Cast Ballot For Donald Trump, Did Not Say Who She is Voting For

What to Know

  • Lt. Gov. of New Jersey Kim Guadagno said during a phone call Sunday that she would not vote for Donald Trump
  • She did not specify who she would be voting for, but said she "can't vote for Hillary Clinton"
  • Guadagno tweeted that no apology could excuse Trump's "reprehensible" comments

Add another 'no' to the Donald Trump pile — Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey Kim Guadagno will not be casting a vote in his favor on Nov. 8.

The former running mate of Gov. Chris Christie will vote, but not for Trump, she told NBC 4 New York in a phone conversation.

"I will be voting," she said. "I can't vote for Hillary Clinton. I will not be voting for Trump."

She noted that it was a personal decision, but did not say who she would vote for.

Her decision adds to the continued condemnation of Trump following vulgar comments he made about women in a leaked 'Access Hollywood' videotape from 2005. Guadagno tweeted her disapproval of his comments Saturday, saying that she and her husband are raising her three sons "to be better than that."

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger also annouced he would not vote for the Republican nominee in a tweet Saturday, stating that he was a "proud Republican", but an American above all else.

Known for his candor, Christie has remained notably silent on Trump's comments amid the growing number of Republicans who have revoked their endorsements. He was spotted entering Trump Towers Saturday afternoon to help Trump prepare for Sunday night's presidential debate.
