LI Grandmother Arrested for Driving on Drugs With 2-Year-Old in Car: Cops

West Babylon woman scheduled to be arraigned Thursday

A Long Island grandmother arrested for driving under the influence of drugs Wednesday morning with her 2-year-old grandson in the car is scheduled to be arraigned today.

Donna Catania, of West Babylon, was pulled over at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The police officer who stopped her believed she was impaired by drugs and arrested her at the scene.

Catania's young grandson, who was in the vehicle at the time, was released to the custody of a family member.

The 54-year-old woman was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger 15 years old or younger, endangering the welfare of a child and driving under the influence of drugs.

The name of Catania's attorney wasn't immediately available.
