Lamborghini Driver Killed in Long Island Crash

A Long Island man was killed Sunday when the Lamborghini he was driving slammed into a utility pole, police said.

Glen Nelson, 48, of Belle Terre, was driving his 2008 Lamborghini eastbound on East Broadway in Port Jefferson at about 3:40 p.m. when it left the road and struck the pole on High Street, Suffolk County police said.

The car was demolished in the crash.

Nelson was taken to nearby St. Charles Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators were attempting to determine what caused the accident.
