An 84-year-old jogger is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle that was being backed out of a Long Island driveway.

Police say the man fell and struck his head on the pavement, causing a serious head injury, when he was hit by a 2002 Jeep in Baldwin just before 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

The driver, a 54-year man, was found not to be under the influence of alcohol.
Police did not identify the two men.
