Former Nyack College Women's Softball Coach Arrested on Sex-Related Charges: Police

Police have arrested the former head coach of Nyack College’s women’s softball team for alleged inappropriate sexual behavior toward players while he was with the team.

Kurt Ludwigsen, 43, faces almost 100 counts of sex-related charges, according to police.

Lohud.com reports the allegations involve 13 players at the evangelical school.

Ludwigsen, who is also known as Kurt Vogner, is charged with 44 counts of forcible touching of another’s sexual parts, 49 counts of harassment involving unwanted physical contact and 1 count of sexual abuse.

The former coach's wife, Ann Ludwigsen, was "shocked" to learn of the charges, according to a statement released Friday by her attorney at Newsome O'Donnell Family Law, Carmen Diaz-Duncan.

"She was wholly unaware of the circumstances surrounding the allegations and is learning the facts of this matter as they unfold," Diaz-Duncan said in the statement. "My client's ultimate concern is the well-being of her children."

Nyack College said it learned of the coach's alleged interactions with players after a team trip to Arizona on March 13.

The school's athletic director and senior woman administrator interviewed players and learned more about the alleged interactions, and Ludwigsen was fired immediately and taken to the airport.

The school said it and the students involved are cooperating with police in the investigation.

The former coach is being held on $15,000 cash bail. It was not immediately clear if he had retained an attorney.
