Two employees of the grocery store Fairway got into a fight that led to one stabbing the other to death on Saturday, police said.

Officials said the coworkers got into an argument at around 1:45 p.m. not far from Fairway's Manhattanville location on 12th Avenue and 130th Street.

Police said they have identified the suspect wanted in connection with the stabbing, who fled the scene, and are searching for him.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the person who died.

Fairway, which remained open, released an official statement calling the violence an isolated occurrence.

"Our deepest condolences go to the family of the deceased at this time. ...this incident, while tragic, is an isolated incident and did not occur on Fairway Market premises," the statement read.
