Boy, 14, Drove Drunk With Shotgun: Cops

The 14-year-old is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with an open container of alcohol and possession of a shotgun without a firearms ID card.

Police arrested a 14-year-old in New Jersey after they say he was driving drunk with alcohol and a shotgun in the vehicle.     

A Hackettstown police officer stopped the Dodge Durango early Sunday and said the driver, who said he was 19, failed a field sobriety test.     

Police tell The Daily Record of Parsippany the boy admitted he was actually 14 and that 19-year-old Timothy Pruden of Liberty Township had given him his license and keys to take another juvenile home.     

Pruden is charged with allowing the 14-year-old to drive under the influence of alcohol and lending his license to the boy.
