    The driver of Honda Civic was killed during a police chase in Yonkers.

    A Police cruiser crashed head on into a car involved in a police a chase in Yonkers early Saturday morning, leaving the 28-year-old driver of the car dead and injuring two officers, police said.

    The chase began after the driver of a Honda Civic refused to pull over during a traffic stop at approximately 1:30 a.m. As police pursued the vehicle driving southbound on a northbound lane through the Getty Square area, a police cruiser driving northbound collided head on with the Civic.

    The driver of the Civic, who was identified as Brandon Turner, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

    According to family, Turner had been celebrating a wedding and drove off in his car drunk.

    Two officers involved in the crash were taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

    The accident remains under investigation.
