A Queens man could face upgraded charges after his 4-month-old son died from injuries sustained in an assault four days ago, authorities say.
Police say Nevin Jandu died Wednesday at a hospital where he was being treated for brain damage and other injuries.
Queens prosecutors arraigned Jagsheer Singh Monday on assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges. They say Singh told investigators the baby fell off of a changing table Saturday.
Authorities say doctors found the child sustained multiple skull fractures and other traumatic injuries inconsistent with Singh's account.
A lawyer for the 28-year-old Singh didn't immediately return messages. He's being held on $200,000 bail.
