Controversial Ex-Yankees Strength Coach Busted for DWI: Police

A former Yankees strength coach who told Congress he injected major leaguer Roger Clemens with steroids more than a dozen times has been arrested on a drunken driving charge on Long Island, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Brian McNamee was arraigned Monday on charges including driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlicensed driving, Nassau County prosecutors said. He was arrested Monday morning in Long Beach after he crashed into another car, police said.

McNamee represented himself at his arraignment. He was released on $2,500 bond. Attempts to reach McNamee for comment were unsuccessful.

McNamee sued Clemens for defamation in 2008 after the pitcher said McNamee lied and manufactured evidence when he accused Clemens of using banned performance-enhancing drugs. The suit was settled in March.
