A truck jumped a curb in Harlem and plowed into a group of pedestrians Thursday afternoon, killing an 89-year-old woman and injuring five other people, officials said.
The collision happened just after noon at the intersection of 145th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard.
Witnesses at the scene said the truck flew onto the sidewalk after a crash with a livery cab.
"Everybody was running," said one person who was on scene.
Six injured people were taken to area hospitals. One woman died and five others had injuries that were not life-threatening.
Residents say the corner has always been dangerous.
"There's always aggressiveness in this intersection," said Melissa Martinez.
