Brooklyn Water Main Repaired, City Officials Say

Workers have repaired a water-main break in Brooklyn that caused delays of subway trains and a cut-off of water to area customers, city officials said Saturday.

The water main broke around 7:45 p.m. Friday in the area of Flatbush Avenue and St. Marks Place in Prospect Heights, sending a river of water flowing into the streets.

Crews were at the scene of the break into the night worked to shut off the water main. Streets were closed from Bergen Street to Prospect Street for several hours.

No. 2, 3, 4, 5, B and Q trains ran with delays in both directions, but service had returned to normal by 10:15 p.m.
