Neighbors rescued a child and a woman in a wheelchair from a burning Bronx home on Tuesday afternoon, witnesses said.

Four people had minor injuries after the two-alarm fire in the two-story house on Summit Avenue in Highbridge.

Luz Fernandez said she and other bystanders carried the woman in the wheelchair out of the building, leaving the wheelchair behind.

"We knew we had to go inside," said Fernandez.

Another witness said good Samaritans also rescued a 2-year-old inside the building, and a group of children ran into a nearby restaurant to call 911 when they saw the building on fire.

The fire is under investigation.
