2 Men Violently Robbed in Manhattan: NYPD

Two men were violently mugged just blocks from one another in Chinatown Sunday night, police said.

The first victim, a 71-year-old man, was walking on Mott Street between Broome and Kenmare Streets at about 9:50 p.m. when two muggers approached him, authorities said. They punched the senior on the right side of his face and stole his wallet, cellphone and about $600, police said.

About half an hour later, a 62-year-old man was followed to his home on Eldridge Street by two suspects and mugged. The robbers punched and kicked the man, causing bruising to the left and right side of his face, police said. They made off with the man’s wallet, which had about $200 in it.

No arrests have been made in either of the muggings, police said.

The suspects are both young men, authorities said.
