Steven Slater Burglarized by Lover's Brother: Cops

The Flighty Flight Attendant can't catch a break.

While Steven Slater was in Queens court yesterday pleading guilty to felony attempted criminal mischief, his partner's brother was being arrested for burglarizing his house, police said.

Police have arrested Jonathan Rochelle, 39, for burglary in the second degree.

Rochelle, the brother of Slater's live-in boyfriend Kenneth Rochelle, broke into their apartment in Belle Harbor on October 14 and stole off with a laptop computer, a printer and a microwave.

Rochelle allegedly made a full confession when he was caught -- and blamed an addiction to painkillers, law-enforcement sources said. The sources said he claimed to have already sold the ill-gotten gains.

Jonathan Rochelle lives just blocks from his brother and Slater, on Beach 130th Street.

In brief comments after pleading guilty yesterday to attempted criminal mischief, the flight attendant who became a summer sensation when he exited his career via an emergency chute thanked partner Kenneth Rochelle "for seeing me through this ordeal." The partner was in Queens Supreme Court with Slater.

Jonathan Rochelle is presently awaiting arraignment in Queens Criminal Court on second-degree burglary and other charges.  If convicted, he faces up to fifteen years in prison, prosecutors said.
