Shabby Cabbies Told to Change Attire

TLC passes regulation requiring drivers to dress professionally

New York City taxi drivers will soon have to tune up their wardrobe before getting behind the wheel, according to new rules approved by the Taxi and Limousine Commission today.

Similar regulations have been in place for years. Those rules prohibited underwear worn as outerwear and banned tank tops and swimsuits.

The new regulations, however, do not mention specific articles of clothing. The TLC now insists drivers be neat, clean and dress in a more "professional appearance".

Violators would face a $25 fine.
