Cuomo had $19.9 million on hand in the Board of Elections filings that were due Friday. After some contributions were received and much was spent on TV ads and other costs, Cuomo's balance was actually more than $3 million lower than in July.
Paladino had $209,406, but the balance is almost meaningless for the millionaire Buffalo developer. Before his Sept. 14 Republican primary win, for example, he quickly loaned his campaign more than $1 million.
The access to cash by both campaigns means the New York airwaves will be flooded with TV ads and mailers as the tightening race heads to Nov. 2.
