‘Glee' Named Program of the Year

The high school musical sitcom, 'Glee,' hauled in a trove of television's top prizes this year.

The Fox sitcom earned "Program of the Year" and "Outstanding New Program" honors from the Television Critics Association, EW reported.

Jane Lynch, the brash and big-voiced lead in the show, took home an award for "Individual Achievement in Comedy."

Julianna Margulies, who plays an attorney in the legal drama "the Good Wife," took home the award for "Individual Achievement in Drama."

'Mad Men,' which won for best Drama the past two years, got knocked off by 'Lost' and 'Breaking Bad,' which tied for the award.

The host of the event, Dax Shepard of 'Parenthood,' lightened the evening with jokes.  He quipped that although he had never hosted an award show, "my body hosted the swine flu last year."
