Olympic gold and silver medal gymnast Laurie Hernandez has been dubbed one of the breakout stars of the Rio Olympics and newly surfaced video of the New Jersey native proves she was always destined greatness.
In a Facebook video published by FloGymnastics, a young Hernandez tumbles and leaps her way through her level 4 floor routine.
The now-16-year-old, nicknamed 'Baby Shakira' because of her innate sense of rhyme, fluidly moved across the floor in a a red, white and yellow leotard.
The tiny gymnast raises into handstands before performing perfect tumbles and bending back into a bridge. Hernandez demonstrates the beginnings of some serious skills on the floor.
And at least one thing remains consistent: her signature high pony-tail with loose curls were just as adorable back then as they are today.
