(L-R) Jack McBrayer, Tina Fey, comedian Tracy Morgan, and actor Alec Baldwin return to "Saturday Night Live" for a "30 Rock" Reunion.

On this week's "Saturday Night Live" the much anticipated return of Tracy Morgan — who was host for the first time since his car accident — wasn't the only exciting guest star.

The show kicked off with a political parody on the Democratic debate which aired last Tuesday on CNN, and was hosted by Anderson Cooper.

Comedian and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David drew laughs when he appeared as presidential candidate Bernie Sanders next to Kate McKinnon playing front-runner Hillary Clinton.

"The American people don't give a damn about your emails," David said, mocking Sanders' response to Clinton's emails from the debate in Las Vegas this week.

David poked fun at Sanders' key campaign message: all candidates are billionaires except for the Vermont state senator.

"I don't have a super PAC. I don't even have a backpack. I hold everything in my arms," Sanders quipped. "I only have one pair of underwear and I dry them on a radiator. Some of these billionaires have three or four pairs."

After the first sketch, Morgan took the stage for the show's traditional starting monologue. Morgan first appeared on SNL in 1996, where he was a cast member until 2003.

"I'm back!" he said, drawing a roaring applause from the audience.

Morgan immediately brought up the six-vehicle car crash that killed his friend and fellow comedian James Mcnair last June, and thanked everyone for their support. Morgan suffered a traumatic head injury in the accident and was in a coma for eight days, in addition to a broken nose, leg and ribs. As a comedian he has always drawn from his personal life, and the injuries from the accident were front and center.

For his first sketch Morgan introduced a flashback to an episode of  "30 Rock", where the actor played a rendition of himself. The audience was delighted to see old cast members take the stage for the popular TV show that aired on NBC from 2006 to 2013.

Co-stars Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBayer, and Alec Baldwin came together to recreate a scene about Morgan's accident.

Later in the show, Morgan brought back some of his old characters like animal lover Brian Fellows and his catch phrase "that's crazy!' as well as Astronaut Jones with musical guest Demi Lovato playing an alien.

Prior to hosting "Saturday Night Live," Morgan made his return to live television during the 67th Annual Emmy Awards, where he told the audience he was feeling much better and warned that "a lot of the women will get pregnant at the after-party".
