Steve Harvey's star is now set in stone.

The actor, comedian, radio personality, best-selling author and host of the "Steve Harvey" talk show and "Family Feud" was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Monday and his friends and fellow daytime talk show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Dr. Phil McGraw were on hand to help celebrate.

"You are a brilliant man and a good friend," DeGeneres said as part of her introductory remarks. "Steve, I love you and this is not just going to be a bunch of jokes about your mustache," the comedian added before cracking wise on what else but the honoree's famous facial hair and its ability to withstand the Southern California heat.

Dr. Phil touched on Steve's journey to success. "I knew him when he was just Steve," McGraw, who is scheduled to appear on "Steve Harvey" Tuesday, said. "Now he has become this walking industry ... they should have a whole street for you Steve."

"This is all by the grace of God," Harvey said when he took the podium before an audience that included DeGeneres, McGraw and his "The Steve Harvey Show" sitcom costars Wendy Raquel Robinson and Cedric the Entertainer.

Also in attendance was friend Samuel L. Jackson, who tweeted: "Steve's Day!!!!! Congrats My Brutha!"  and accompanied the missive with an image he snapped of Harvey, DeGeneres and McGraw standing over the star.

During his speech, Harvey thanked his coworkers across all the mediums he works in, his friends, family (he has 7 children) and made particular reference to his wife Marjorie, of whom he movingly said, "The Lord saved my soul, Marjory saved my life."

But it was his legion of fans that received the biggest shout out.

What Harvey couldn't help making fun of in the runup to Monday's ceremony was the impending pedestrian traffic that would literally walk all over his name.

During a recent taping of his daytime talk fest, an audience member asked Harvey what gifts, if any, he would like his fans to leave on the street-level marker.

"Build a little bridge over mine," he quipped in response, adding that he didn't want people "walking on mine. I really don't."

"Steve Harvey" was the sleeper hit among a slew of new daytime talk shows that debuted in 2012. In January, NBC Universal (who distribute the show) announced that the talk fest has been renewed for a second season. That same month Harvey won a 2013 People’s Choice Awards as Favorite New Talk Show Host.

Taped before a live studio audience at the NBC 5 studios in downtown Chicago, "Steve Harvey" features real people talking about their lives and occasional celebrity guests. Recent stars who have appeared include Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Tyler Perry. Dr. Phil is slated to appear on Tuesday's episode (May 14).
