Continuing her licensening sprawl, Vera Wangannounced plans to introduce cosmetics to her Simply Vera by Vera Wang for Kohl's lineup sometime before spring 2012.
The designer told WWD, “As part of my incredible partnership with Kohl’s, I will now be able to offer women all over America my own personal regimen for skin care and makeup...Like fashion, makeup is also transformational."
Having cornered the bridal market, both from the high-end and, more recently, the mass-market side of things due to her upcoming partnership with David's Bridal, in addition to her array of lifestyle offerings for Kohl's—and a cadre of strong-selling fragrances to boot—cosmetics may seem like a logical next step for Wang's expanding empire.
Still, one hopes she doesn't spread herself too thin. Despite the majority of her business now seemingly tied up in licensing and mass-market deals, Wang still represents a certain level of elegance and high fashion. But as we all know: fashion is fickle.
