Saks will become the city's first high-end department store to carry sizes 10-14 in styles by high-end designers like Chanel, Alexander McQueen and more.
The new, larger sizes will be incorporated into the mix on the third floor, home to top-drawer designers whose garments were previously only available up to a size 10. Per usual, the inventory will likely include only one piece per size, with some designers ranging up to a size 20.
The designer selection in plus-sizes will range from the traditional Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, St. John, Escada, Valentino, MaxMara, and more to the less-so, in Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Alexander McQueen.
Racked reports that NYC will serve as a test market for the size run before the orders are rolled out to other cities accordingly.
