Philip Crangi Expands with Lucas International

When it comes to business, NYC jeweler Phillip Crangi is known for keeping it in the family. His sister, Courtney, handles the business side of his line, Giles & Brother, since its founding in 2001, while her partner, Sheri, manages their boutique, which they -- naturally -- chose to call the Crangi Family Project.

This week, however, the Crangi's invited a new member to join them at the family table: Lucas Design International, an LA-based manufacturer that will greatly improve the brand's production capabilities.

Crangi told WWD that he and his sister had been looking for a partner "for two years, at least" before settling on Lucas, which has produced merchandise for the likes of Tom Binns and ASOS.

Hopefully, the partnership will allow the Crangis to refocus their energy on "development concepts and design," which Phillip claims is their true strength as a business team, rather than putting all their energy into production. Regardless, the new teammate signals big expansion opportunities for the indie label -- much to the delight of its stalwart fans.
